Thank you so much for your generous tax-deductible contribution to help the women and children in our care in Nepal in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.
You are helping us rush aid to the women and children, provide security until we can get them back indoors, and repair and rebuild the facilities.
Thank you,
Linda Smith, Shared Hope International
Founder and President
More information on the situation at Asha Nepal
“Asha” means HOPE. But the earthquake’s devastation has threatened to throw them into despair as the realization dawns–their home of thirteen years is so damaged it is uninhabitable. As they now sleep outside at the doorstep of the only real home they have known, the shock of their situation is sinking in.
Shared Hope was able to build a permanent home for these ladies and children who were fleeing from situations of sex trafficking in 2002. At that time, most had been trafficked from Nepal to India and with our support were finally able to return to their home country. Since then, Asha Nepal has taken in many more Nepalese victims of sex trafficking. It is also home to children who have escaped a future in the brothel and have grown up to be the leadership of Asha Nepal. Many Shared Hope donors met Manisha, Pooja, Savita, and Ajay along with founder Bimala last year when we invited them to the U.S. to help celebrate Shared Hope’s 16th anniversary.
Shared Hope is their primary source of support and our kind donors raised the money—approximately $300,000—to build their home thirteen years ago. Now we are mobilizing to have an engineering evaluation done with all haste and ask that in this crucial period you help once again—this time to repair or rebuild… and restore hope to HOPE Nepal.
