JuST Conference Survivor Scholarship Application

The Juvenile Sex Trafficking (JuST) Conference is the nation’s leading conference on child and youth sex trafficking, with an average of 1,000 change-makers in attendance each year. JuST features today’s most pressing issues in the anti-trafficking field. Presentations and workshops focus on skill-building, survivor experiences, cross-discipline collaboration, task force development, case studies, and lessons learned.

Our attendees are leading the fight against trafficking in their communities including, but not limited to survivors and lived experience experts, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, service providers, judges, victim advocates, lawmakers, social workers, and healthcare providers. A multi-disciplinary approach is key to preventing trafficking and adequately serving victims and survivors.

If you’d like to join us this year, please complete the Survivor Scholarship Application below. You must agree to the Terms and Conditions in order for your application to be considered. We want this to be a positive experience for you and not one that may hinder your recovery.

Applications are due by Monday, July 31, 2023. Scholarships will be granted for the JuST Conference registration fee only. Travel and hotel expenses must be covered by you or by your organization. You must provide evidence that these arrangements have been made to scholarship@sharedhope.org in order to receive the code to register at $0.

Steps for the scholarship application process:
1) Apply. The absolute last day to apply is Monday, July 31. Terms and Conditions MUST be agreed to for your application to be considered. Please review them carefully and watch the “JuST Self-Care Video.”
2) Notification. We will notify all applicants on August 14 as to whether a not a scholarship will be awarded.
3) Accept/Decline. Upon notification, you must indicate whether you accept or decline the scholarship as soon as possible but not later than August 21. SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE REALLOCATED IF NO RESPONSE BY AUGUST 21.
4) Travel Verification. If you accept, travel verification (airline itinerary or indicate “driving from____”) must be submitted no later than AUGUST 31 to scholarship@sharedhope.org.

I verify that I have been out of the life for at least 2 years. I understand that this requirement is in place due to the content that is discussed at the JuST Conference which can be triggering. I commit to attending the entire conference during event hours. I understand that this is a serious learning experience, and that extra-curricular activities are to be completed outside of event hours during my free time.

I am able to cover my travel, hotel, transportation and extra meal expenses, and understand that Shared Hope will not be able to cover these expenses on my behalf. I understand that I will be required to provide evidence that I have made travel & hotel arrangements before a scholarship is granted to me. Travel Verification is due by September 22.

I understand that Shared Hope has limited Scholarships available and that I am not guaranteed a scholarship for attendance. Scholarships will be granted on a case-by-case basis in the order that applications are received. In the event that I am not granted a scholarship, Shared Hope will send me a discount code to register at the discounted price of $300.
