Host an Event

You have the power to make a difference. Hosting an event is a meaningful way to raise awareness, inspire action, and support survivors of trafficking. The best part? You’re in charge.

How It Works

  • What to Host: Anything that engages your community—awareness events, fundraisers, walks, runs, movie screenings, book clubs, concerts, sports competitions, candlelight vigils, prayer gatherings, yoga or Zumba classes, and more.
  • Where to Host: Any venue works—your home, church, school, office, or community space. Get creative!
  • What to Do: Bring friends, family, colleagues, or your community together. Share facts, distribute resources, and challenge participants to take action. Your unique gifts and talents are the most powerful tools for spreading awareness.

Event Ideas

  • Start an anti-trafficking book club (try Renting Lacy).
  • Host a film screening (Chosen or Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking are great options).
  • Organize a fundraiser—every dollar directly supports prevention, restoration, and justice.
  • Plan a concert or local forum on human trafficking.
  • Hold a candlelight vigil or prayer gathering.
  • Gather friends for coffee and meaningful conversation about the issue.

Become an Ambassador of Hope

Ambassadors expand Shared Hope’s impact nationwide. After completing an online training, Ambassadors learn about domestic minor sex trafficking, including recruitment tactics, victim indicators, and ways to take action. Equipped with pre-made presentations, fact sheets, reports, and other resources, Ambassadors represent Shared Hope at events, schools, churches, businesses, and community gatherings.
