Our story begins in 1998 when U.S. Congresswoman Linda Smith traveled into the heart of the brothel district in Mumbai, India where she witnessed the brutal exploitation and sexual slavery of women and children. Shared Hope International pledges good stewardship of every donation. We are audited on an annual basis by an independent CPA firm and have received a clean opinion each year. In addition, we are members of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and have met their standards consistently.
