DMST is an interactive, self-paced e-learning course for those who come into contact with child sex trafficking victims in the United States. Participants will hear from experts and survivors, watch undercover footage of pimps engaging with buyers, and discover the reality of child sex trafficking in America. Appropriate for professionals in such areas as law enforcement and child protection, this training is also vital for community advocates who wish to engage with the issue in any capacity. Module 1 Introduction to the subject including accurate definitions, legislation combatting the crime, an explanation of how and where it happens, and who it involves.
Module 2 Vulnerability factors and obstacles to the identification of potential sex trafficking victims.
Module 3 Recruitment and grooming tactics used by pimps, physical and psychological control measures preventing escape, and common terminology used by pimps and victims.
Module 4 Key indicators to identify victims and challenges in assisting them; developing an effective a victim-centered response.
